Barkatech Consulting, LLC and VEFXI Corporation Settle Intellectual Property Dispute

Portland, Oregon, August 11, 2015

 

Barkatech Consulting, LLC, Dr.  Javed Barkatullah, VEFXI Corporation and Craig Peterson, announced today that they have reached an amicable settlement of litigation, including claims and counterclaims, over an intellectual property dispute, the terms of which are confidential.

 

“We believe this settlement provides a reasonable closure to an intellectual property dispute.” said Dr. Javed Barkatullah, President of Barkatech Consulting, LLC. “This allows us to move forward and focus our attention to innovate and create new technologies and solutions.”

Dr. Javed Barkatullah has a long and proven history of developing innovative solutions for complex problems in the fields of high speed circuits design for integrated circuits, computer systems and software. Since 2010 founding of Barkatech Consuling, LLC, Dr. Barkatullah has been providing technology development and business consulting services as an independent contractor to early stage companies in diverse and cutting-edge fields such as 2D to 3D video conversion, bitcoin mining and blockchain technology. His most recent innovations and developments have been presented at Hot Chips Symposium in 2014 and published in the prestigious IEEE Micro Journal in 2015.

Bitcoin paper by Javed Barkatullah in IEEE Micro March/April 2015 Edition

Dr. Javed Barkatullah's paper on bitcoin mining processor design has been published in the March/April 2015 issue of the IEEE Micro journal. IEEE Micro is a prestigious peer reviewed journal that brings together top research from the leading microarchitects and scholars from around the world. It is a bimonthly publication of the IEEE computer Society. Dr. Barkatullah is the primary author of this paper which expands on the presentation he made in the Hot Chips 26 Conference on August 12, 2014 on the architecture, design and implementation of the first generation of bitcoin mining processor and system by Cointerra, Inc. Hot Chips Symposium: Cupertino, CA, August 10 - August 12, 2014

On August 12, 2014, Javed Barkatullah delivered a presentation titled: Goldstrike 1: A 1st Generation Cryptocurrency Processor for Bitcoin Mining at the Hot Chips 26 Symposium. Dr. Barkatullah has been involved with Cointerra, Inc. as a consultant/contractor for designing and implementing two generations of bitcoin mining processors and systems. This presentation was one of the four presentation in in the high performance ASICs session at the symposium. Rick Merritt of EE Times had a report on this presentation along with his follow-up interview with Dr. Barkatullah.

16nm Bitcoin Mining Processor Announcement from CoinTerra Inc.

Dr. Javed Barkatullah was engaged by CoinTerra, Inc. based in Austin, TX to design and implement a high performance but low power custom processor for Bitcoin mining application. Dr. Barkatullah along with a small team of engineers successfully implemented the world`s first 16nm FinFET based custom processor in a record four months period.Barkatech is extremely proud of this great accomplishment of designing a completely redesigned bitcoin mining processor for ultra-low power consumption on a bleeding edge process technology. The entire design project consisting of RTL development to physical design and finally tapeout was completed in about four months, meeting all power and frequency goals.
